08:52:05 CET Happy valentine's day today! I certainly felt loved this morning when receiving a valentine's gift. But it's for sure not because of the gift, everyday is a valentine's day when being able to share it with the loved ones!
I wrote about the assassination of Kim Jong-nam yesterday; that got me reading further because I was intrigued by the events around the man. It is really like a bad movie plot - murder by poisoning, CIA informant, mistresses - it could be the next Bourne Identity movie. I recommend reading the Wikipedia article!
OK, a busy workday today with a lot of calls, so I better get my coffee and get going...
19:17:28 CET OK, that was the working day, it's all done for today. Mondays and Tuesdays are normally the two days that I plan to work on my backlog items, have ad-hoc meetings, write-ups and general admin tasks. If I can, I will always try to plan calls/meetings on any other day in the week. Of course are there exceptions to the rule.
I have done some more work on the new website. I haven't mentioned it before (as it's been something I just briefly started exploring) but it's a complete new design for the JMA music school website. So just let's say that the design will be completely different and leave at that. I have so much stuff going on in the Bootstrap framework...
Anyways... that was not what I was going to write about. I also took the time at lunch to go and get something for my wife. Today, on this "from-the-heart-commercial-day" we have named Valentine's day. Since I was completely swamped in the weekend, I planned it for this day (and NOT because I already received something nice this morning). It worked out as planned. I got something nice and a card to go with it. Even though I "make fun" of this day at times, it is ACTUALLY a nice thing to have; a complete day blocked to do something special for the person in your life. Why not? I am still learning, but as I see it, the idea is not to mimic another Christmas, it's all about to show appreciation to someone special. "Oh, I don't need a special day to do that", you might think. Fine if you do, but this goes above the normal. Take the next step and do something beyond the normal, show that special person what he/she means to you in your life. You will be amazed of the response and reactions you get...
This is something else as a parent that we HAVE to bring to the next generation. Don't you agree? Tell me what other values in life that will create a better future..?
